Temples are a great place to fire the imagination of children and for them to have fun. The kids here are using the coconut branch (cobbari matta) with a view to knock some coconuts of the tree. In the background you can see Nandi, the Vahana of Siva. There are plenty of small SivaLingas about. You can install one too for Rs 3050 to half a lakh rupees, if you have the money and inclination. Going to Kotilineswara and coming back is a day trip from Bangalore. There are a lot of other deities too, depending on your IshtaDaivam (Favorite Deity), you can offer worship at any of the shrines. Nandi always faces a huge SivaLinga in the centre of the ground. I think some gaurds in a distance were yelling to the children to stop, but they are not in view here.
