The children of Apsaras

The noble Dronacharya was born of Ghrtaci, who was also the mother of Suka. (Synonyms for ratrI (night) : doSa (defect), tamah (darkness), rajah (brightness), ghRtAcI (an apsara, mother of Drona and Suka), payah (water), himA (ice).)

Ayus was the son of Urvasi and Pururavas.

The wise and truthful philosopher Satyakama was the son of Jabali (not a an apsara).

The chaste Sakuntala were daughters of Menaka.

Devout Mandodari, the wife of Ravana and the mother of Indrajit,  was the daughter of Hema.

The prejudice against people as a matter of their birth crept into our thoughts only later (after interacting with the kaliyuga religions). We should leave it off…
