At dasara and/or makara samkranthi, kannadigas and telugu people arrange a display of dolls and invite the women of the neighbourhood to come and receive pasupu (arshana, turmeric, haldi) and kumkuma (sindhur). Coconuts, sweets, betel leaves, flowers, areca nuts, bananas and soaked/cooked pulses are also distributed.
I took the occasion to take a few pictures.
