Pictures of today’s solar eclipse

I tried a smoked glass, but it still brought tears to my eyes. So instead I made pinholes in postcard and observed the eclipse in the shadow of the post card. I took some pictures of the same. Then I manged to capture an image of the eclipse on the floor with just the gaps between my fingers. After that I walked around the house and I saw that our garden trees ad plants also cast the crescent light shadow through the leaves. Photos attached.

The cows and birds and dogs did not eat at all. The cow snacked on a bit of grass and the puppy on a bread crust around 12ish when the tv said that the “grahanam had just left” and then they lay down and did not eat. The crows cawed somewhat morosely.

Is it only humans who eat during a solar eclipse? Or were animals eating elsewhere?

My friend in Thiruananthapuram watched the reflection of the eclipse in a big bucket of water mixed with Neeli (clothes ‘blue’)
