Live The Ideal!!

leave a comment »

This is a very interesting and enjoyable song of 21st century. While the backrground picturises the pluralism that is India, inclusive of many of the cultures that India, especially Hyderabad has come in contact over the centuries, the dance is upbeat and the lyrics are very meaningful. It is well worth watching!

While the background refrain is “praise God” the main lyrics say,

“Are we going to sit and sing praises whether it is Rama or Krishna?

Friend, let us remember what they achieved.

Let us also show, in way that shakes society,

Let us teach the Gita pATha, in a war (against injustice)

Medals do not define victory,

The meaning of a game is to conquer yourself.

Before you celebrate Sri Rama Navami, or Vijaya Dasimi defeat evil.

I realize I have left out some words in delivering the meaning, but I like the theme of

“Live the Ideal!!” rather than just praise heroes and live like cowards.

This song has been featured in many Indian Languages…
