Ahhh! We had our first shower albeit a tiny one in Bangalore, two days after Sri Rama Navami (Festivals of sukla paksha chaitra masa – spring festivals), and a few cool breezes too amidst the sweltering heat. Our BBMP elections are over so the power cuts and water shortages are back…!
Today is the wonderful Chaitra Pournami day when some of us celebrate Hanuman Jayanthi (birthday), with great joy in our hearts, even as the Tilagas (Vahnikula kshatriyas) of Bangalore celebrate Karaga where they worship their daughter and deity Adi Sakthi Draupadi द्रौपदी अग्निपुत्री, at the Dharmaraya temple. (Pandava Festivals in Kishkinda: Karaga and Bheemana Amavasya)
God loves all lovely seasonal days because the devotees love beautiful days of the season..
Jai Hanuman! Jai Draupadi Mata!
BTW, The western world calls it the ‘worm moon’ anticipating the earthworms in spring… eek… brrr..!
