In the Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka vrata kalpa, we first chant s’uklAmbaradaram…..

Then the Brahmin who is performing the puja and has elected the mukurta or the auspicious hour for the puja. requests all the other honoured brahmins to accept that the muhurta selected is the auspicious muhurta.  Then all the other invited brahmins chant ayam muhUrtah sumuhUrtostu : May this muhurta be a good muhurta. Thus they accept the selection of the priest who set the muhurtam.

Then we say that the very instant where the toe-nail of Lakshmipati (Vishnu) is remembered, that itself is the lagnam and that itself is the good day with tArAbalam, candrabalam, vidyAbalam and  daivabalam.

Thus we compensate and cover for any human error or difficulty that we may encounter in the accurate setting of a muhurta. This s’loka is taken from the mangalAStakam of the Vais’Nava sampradAya.
