Whispers from Lakshadweep : Travel

From Cochin, Kochi you have to get permission from the govt, and then you can go to one or many of the Lakshadweep islands by boat. Sharing a few whispers I heard from Lakshadweep islands with you…

“We’re sitting on the deck watching water hyacinths float past us lazily”

“Saw dolphins yesterday”

“Is a brilliant and sunny day filled with turtles and brightly coloured fish which swim between the legs”

Snail tracks followed by crab tracks followed by bird tracks in the sand

“I just walked from hotel to one end of island”

“Watched a fisherman for a long time”

“We went to a lighthouse and then to a wharf”

“There are a ‘lot’ more stars about here”

“Did you know that a certain species of crabs have eggs which glow in the dark? A bright blue. They wash up on the shore making miniature metropolises. It’s like looking at stars on the ground, hypnotises you.”

“We went around the lagoon in a kayak.”

“Went snorkelling. Saw fish with tribal war paints. And fish which were rainbow coloured swarming around the place. And five turtles. “

“Walking to nearby village”

“Saw many differently coloured fish of different sizes. Some were two feet long.”

“In the middle of the lagoon there are pools of deep water filled with awesome fish and corals. In the middle of which exist small islands of shallow water. The water changes color from light green in shallow to light blue in deep.”

“We went to see schools of extremely large fish today evening..”
