Krishna’s love for his devotees
In the 4th chapter, 11th sloka of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says ..’ye yatha maam prapadyante, taam tathaiva bhajaamyaham’.
In whatever way I am approached, in that way do I worship (bhajaami) them.

दुर्योधन के मेवा त्याग्यो साग विदुर घर खाई
duryodhana ke mevā tyāgyo sāga vidura ghara khāī
Lord Krishna renounced the delicacies of Duryodhana and instead he ate vegetables at the house of Viduraजूठे फल शबरी के खाये बहु विधि स्वाद बताई
jūṭhe phala śabarī ke khāye bahu vidhi svāda batāī
Lord Rama ate the berries that Shabari had already tasted with her own mouth and he described the great taste…राजसूय यज्ञ युधिष्ठिर कीन्हा तामे जूठ उठाई
rājasūya yajña yudhiṣṭhira kīnhā tāme jūṭha uṭhāī
During the festival of Yudhishira’s Rajasuya offerings, Lord Krishna picked up the dirty platesप्रेम के बस पारथ रथ हांक्यो भुल गये ठकुराई
prema ke basa pāratha ratha hāṁkyo bhula gaye ṭhakurāī
Out of love he became the charioteer of Arjuna, forgetting his Lordshipऐसी प्रीत बढ़ि व्रिन्दावन गोपियन नाच नचाई
aisī prīta baṛhi vrindāvana gopiyana nāca nacāī
Such love was abundant in vrindavana where he danced with cowherd girlsप्रेम के बस नृप सेवा किन्हिं आप बने हरि नाई
prema ke basa nṛpa sevā kinhiṁ āpa bane hari nāīसुर क्रुर एहि लायक नाहीं केहि लगे करहुं बढ़ाई
sura krura ehi lāyaka nāhīṁ kehi lage karahuṁ baṛhāī
How can this mean hearted Surdasa be suited to praise Him?
Surdasa was one of Krishna’s great devotees and the author of this lovely song.
