This lovely song from the movie Nagin… shows how a beautiful girl is captivated by beautiful music… The “kaun baje baasuriyaan” is reminiscent of Krishna’s flute attracting the girls of Vrindavan. At the end of the song you see how the girl is just one feeling of involved yearning.
In the next song, you have the girl begging the charmer to let her go home, since it was very late.. a theme that occurs in other hindi movie songs of the sixties (eg abhi na jao chodkar).
And then you have her heart calling out to him after the “evil society” that is “anti-love” separates them and ties her up.
I want all the “Rama-Sitas” of the world to be together and have happy endings.
