Srimad Parakala Mutt Hayagriva Temple is located in Majestic area close to Sangam Cinema Theatre.
I went and located it yesterday. Stand right in front of Sangam Theatre. Turn left and walk straight past a lot of travel agencies till you come to the Janata Travel Agency. The temple is right next to it.
I am told that it was established 60 years ago by the guruji Sri A. Ranganathaswamy and Sri S. Radhakrishnan, our former president was some how involved either present or participated. I was a little nervous to ask for photography permission. (being a part advaitin who doesn’t know all proper dvaitin rules).
I was also luckily mis-directed to a Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple near the police station, but it wasn’t yet open when I went. I saw only Hanuman! So a visit is on the cards.
Finally, I had a darsan, and got teertha, tualsi leaves and prasadam. Yay!
I got a picture of a Dr. Rajkumar (Kannada Movie Star and Icon) temple, near the police station.. so you have something to look at! I loved his early work the best!
