How can I tell you the excitement and delight and peace at this jyotirlingam? Sri Rishikesh {Krishna} Goswami, the devout and knowledgeable  at the Gauthama Ahalya Cave told us many interesting things. If you see the 12 jyotirlingams, you become a jyoti like Dhruva after this life and avoid the birth death cycle. The reason there is no saligramam in tryambakeshwar and three tiny bumps 120 degrees apart on the Sivalingam, is because it represents the trimurthi Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswar.

We had to wait in a long line for a few seconds of darsanam, but it was very thrilling
A fellow piligrim, bluetoothed a few photos of the temple. I recommend your reading the Gauthama story on the right sidebar.. To know the why and what of this great holy place.
