Abhyasa : Jyothi’s Question : My Answer : Repaying a Guru.

Hi Satya Mam, I hope I am not indebted to you for all your efforts in helping me out. I don’t want to take another janma to pay you back, How could I in the least bit offer you in return to my Questions?

This is my understanding.

  • Once  any student  has completed their study of the topic, and understands thoroughly then they should teach others.
  • Just as the debt to your fore-fathers (pitRRNam) by bearing sons, you repay your debt to the rishis (RSi RNam) by teaching students.
  • I am technically just the last mile connectivity from the Rishis to you.
  • My guruji makes it a point not to accept any material, money or service from me.
  • In fact I ask a barrage of questions and debate many issues (but very respectfully). I also consult many texts and draw from my own experience and study.
  • She is very pleased that I try to write one page a day, either on a subject pertaining to Ancient India or on some topic that I feel will benefit the nation.

So in short, learn thoroughly and teach someone else.

BTW, I am not a guruji but a student or sahapATin helping my classmates a little bit.
