In our locality there were more than 36000 voters of which only 16000+ voters cast their votes. The winner got 6200 votes a 100 vote margin over the next guy in the fray. So the winner has the support of one sixth of the people of our ward.
This time our ward got Backward Category B, which means only people from that category could contest here. Next time we will get some other category.
Kempe Gowda the founder of Bangalore originally hailed from this ward. This may have influenced the fact that only Gowdas have won in the municipal, legislative and parliamentary elections this time around. Or it may be a combination of many factors.
