abhyAsa : People’s judgements of you – reflections, projections, clues.
Those who call me a rishika are seeing their own goodness reflected in me.
Those who call me a prANa-depleter are seeing their own fatigue in me, it is a projection.
Since many people call me physically lazy, that may be true – a clue.
Since many people call me knowledgeable, that may be true – a clue.
If a class of people call me a fool, it is their reflection they are seeing in me. It means I am trivializing something they value.
If all classes of people call me a fool, it may be a clue, I could be doing something silly.
When people judge a perfect person as faulty they are revealing themselves. Listen to a person’s judgement of Krishna or Rama and you will know how they see themselves. I learned this from my son.
People try to project stereotypes onto you, why?
They may
- have no time (interest) to observe and understand you
- they may have a great need (or fear) for you to be somebody whether you are like that or not!
Now,
Observe your judgements of people. And learn something about yourself!
