AbhyAsa : anger management strategies.

My cousin used to forgive everyone’s odd behaviour by saying that the person had had a bad day. Kunda guruji always sides with the offending person and forgives their odd behaviour saying that it is natural.

I realise that anger is generated when we think that someone has wilfully hurt us or our interests.

When I am hurt I think, that it is the result of some vikarma on my part. I would have similarly hurt someone else. Then I see the circumstances surrounding the offender’s behaviour. I sincerely believe that it is in no one’s power to hurt me, unless my vikarma is behind it.

Astrology also helps shift the blame away both from us and the offender because it was fated to be so.

Many times I have found that hurtful people have driven me out of bad situations into better ones.
So their behaviour is more like handrails that say don’t go here.

Some people pity the offender saying they don’t know any better.

If I see Krishna as the karta, then It is easy to forgive myself as well as others.

Vishnu Sahasranama tells us that Vishnu is the cause of anger, the destroyer of anger and anger itself.
