Love upsets balance.

“But sometimes losing your balance over love is a part of balanced living”: Ketuk in Eat, Pray,Love.

Julia Roberts plays the role of  a white American lady who has lost touch with her feelings and travels to Italy to eat, India to pray and meditate and finally to Bali, where she falls in love.

To go off to India and find a guru is what some Americans and Japanese really plan hard and save hard to do. Looking for an inner peace that eludes them in a capitalist consumer society, they hope to find it in our chaotic diversity.. Even while practicing a “touch nothing other than yourself while in India” policy.

I’ve always been curious about them like many other Indians, and wondered what they find here that they can’t find elsewhere. So this movie obviously attracted my attention and Julia Roberts is a personal favorite, so I watched it.

I liked the Italy message – the sweetness of doing nothing,
the India message – surrender and let go interestingly given by Americans to the protagonist not by Indians,
and the Bali message – your face, mind and even your liver must smile.

And the final message – sometimes losing your balance over love is a part of balanced living.

That message makes me think and makes me feel peaceful.
