About : Travel

I wonder why I love the idea of travelling.

I like the sound of different places, I like meeting people I have never met before and tasting things (vegetarian) that are new and interesting. I like the wonderful things I learn. There is something about novelty that I love. I guess I am a novelty seeker then?

Generally speaking, travel is for those who are fit and rich. And honestly speaking I am neither.

But I have a wonderful imagination. Even before I go anywhere, I can ‘see it all’ in my mind’s eye. No matter that nothing is anything like what I imagine or what others say it is like or even what it was like last time.

In fact I set off to see Nepal just because a friend said it was good! And it was. I saw Ujjain because it comes in story books. There was a time when I only had to see a place on a map to want to go and see it.

My travelling is always last minute and I’m always torn between a place that I have already seen and liked and a brand new place.

I really want to go see those northern countries – as close to the arctic pole as possible –  and all the magical equatorial islands.

I want to see how the sky looks there especially the stars.

I love to go see rivers. And mountains.

I want to see how people live and what they do.

I want to smell pure air and see beautiful sights. And listen to lovely music.

Experience nice feelings. Wonder, peace, admiration, independence, freedom, dutylessness and so on.
