Markandeya said that for those who were bitten by the snake of samAra, for animals and for those with no power of discrimination, remembering the lotus feet of candras’Ekhara (s’iva), was the best medicine.
Another remedy that works well is travel.
Sometime back we recognised that samsAra was ‘getting to us’!
I proposed a small drive to some nearby place and we set out for nAgarahoLE, but we discovered ourselves at bhadra wildlife sanctuary, courtesy hanumAn. Our journey was comfortable and we found a room to stay with a view of the bhadra river. There was a power cut and the generator failed and there was a huge wind and rain.
Though the conditions were a little similar to our terrifying night at dEvaprayAg, I was not scared this time round and enjoyed the show that hanumAn had organised for us!
We took the blessings of the beautiful bhadrA river and some pictures in the evening and early morning.
We saw the jungle and some animals and birds and enjoyed some spectacular meals.
For those who want some loukika guidance on the matter – the karnataka govt. has a service called jungle lodges and resorts which for a pretty penny will give you a place to stay in beautiful wildlife locations and some nature based activities. Their web-site is junglelodges.com. This is not a paid promo or a sponsorship or any guarantee – it is my personal opinion so please ask someone you trust before you make plans.
The divine plane :
I try to understand events by what is happening at various layers, the physical, the mental (includes the social, political, economic etc) and the divine layers.
My body got to go around and do things, my mind got a chance to lose some ‘maila’ or mental pollutants caused by stagnation and attachments.
parivrAjakAs and sannyAsis don’t like to stay in any place for more than a night or two – just to avoid this ‘maila’.
At a divine layer, hanumAn decided to grant my (mind’s) wish of living in a cabin by a river – which crashed onto the shore in waves like the sea, and my son’s wish to do this in a storm. He also decided to grant my wish for a lovely jeep ride into the jungle, a lovely boat ride to see birds from pakisthan and himachal.
He also helped me free myself from one or two of my greatest and most damaging of all attachments and to purify my mind.
When I say myself – I mean the sangAta or this association of this body-mind-Self (paramAtma).
