I was interested to see that Sir Walter Loxley is shown as cremated in the Robin Hood Movie, Russel Crowe 2010.
The period is the time of the third crusade, when the (english?) christians and muslims were fighting for control of their holy lands.
A cursory browse indicates that christian views of cremation have varied with time, place and situation.
