Oh good munis, listen to another itihAsa which tells of the greatness of the dEvI bhAgavata.

Once upon a time, agastya, lOpamudra’s husband, who was born in kumbha ( aquarius, pot),

went to meet kumAra and worshipped him (skanda, kArtikEya). Then he asked to be told many stories.

bhagavAn skanda then told him many stories, which demonstrated the greatness of dAna, vrata and tIrtha ie gifts, disciplined rituals and holy places with sacred water.

He talked about vAraNAsi, maNikarNikA, gangA and others in great detail.

The delighted muni, again asked kumAra for more stories for the benefit of people.

Please explain the greatness of the dEvI bhAgavatam and the right manner of listening to it.

The purANa called dEvIbhAgavata is the best one, because the eternal mother of the three worlds is praised in it.

Who is worthy of explaining the greatness of this work in detail. O brahman! Let me give you a brief account.

She, the giver of bhUkti (experience) and mukti (freedom), whose form is satcitaananda, the mother of the moving world, the eternal one, is present in the dEvI bhAgavatam.

Therefore by reading or listening to this text, which talks of her, nothing is impossible in this here world.
