In the page trimUrthi, caturmUrti (please click to visit), I have so far collected the accounts from narasimha, nArada and s’iva mahApurAna as to the emergence of brahma, viSNu and mahEs’wara from the parabrahman. I also present the common-tv-movie-view
It is also seen that vais’NavA purAnAs view the parabrahman as really viSNu and saivA purAnAs as really s’iva.
In the narasimha purANa, Vishnu is the parabrahman and his avatars such as narasimha and rAma take care of the pAlana of the s’RSTi created by brahma.
In the s’iva mahApurANa, s’iva is the parabrahman and is worshipped by the four : brahma, vishnu, indra and rudra.
Also, in the narasimha purANa the description of sarga or creation sounds very sAnkhyA like with pradhAna, mahat, 3 ahankArAs, 3 guNAs and 5 tanmAtrAs and 5 tattvAs and 5 bhUtAs.
