Quoting From This Source : Bharatanatyam.
“Well, I’m just a black American whom fell in love with bharatanatyam. I’m not sure if my race is an advantage or disadvantage in this situation, but it definitely is a conversation starter.“
“Bharatanatyam is more than exercise. It’s a form of therapy and sometimes it’s like going to a church/temple/etc.
This was just an introduction of me and bharatanatyam. There will be many more bharatanatyam posts to come!“

I am always curious when foreigners take an interest in Indian Culture, but as a rule there are more whites and asians in the mix.
Given the similarity between ancient african culture (pre-christianity) and ancient indian culture, I was rather curious about this under-representation or ‘lack of interest’.
Of late, I am noticing a few black persons take an interest in Ancient Indian Culture and Studies.
Well I do wish this student lots of luck! Do check their blog out for future insights into bharata nAtyam from a new perspective!
