The Vishnu Puranam was taught by Rshi parAs’ara to maitrEya Rshi. Reference : Vishnu Puranam Page 1. It was taught to Parasara by his father’s father (pituh pitA) Vasishtha Brahmarshi.
Rishi Maitreya explained parts of the Bhagavatham to Vidura, a son of Veda Vyasa. (Source) One such part describes time duration from a fraction of a second to kalpa durations.
