Rg Veda
Rk is a synonym for vAca (speech).
Arka – Means Sun
Archa – is a verb meaning worship.
Veda is a noun derived from the verb Vid which means to know. So Veda means that which is known.
Samhita means collection.
So Rg Veda Samhita can mean a ‘collection of knowledge about the Sun’ or a ’collected knowledge about worship.’ or collected spoken knowledge.
